5. Steven Gerrard – 7.04 rating

The captain may not be showing the same sort of form that helped catapult the Reds towards an unexpected title race last year, but with two goals and an assist in the league so far the 34-year-0ld is proving he still has something to offer.

4. Dejan Lovren – 7.23

Probably a surprise entry for many fans at Anfield as the Croatia international has been widely criticised since a £20m summer switch from Southampton, but manager Brendan Rodgers will be hoping he can still prove to be the answer to his defensive woes.

3. Jordan Henderson – 7.24

The man tipped to be Gerrard’s successor as skipper and midfield enforcer has been doing well so far this season and is even providing more in the final third with a goal and three assists to his name already.

2. Daniel Sturridge – 7.30

This goes to further emphasise just how much the Merseysiders miss this striker with Sturridge having been out since August with a calf injury and with Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert failing in attack, Rodgers needs the 25-year-old back as soon as possible.

1. Raheem Sterling – 7.51

Despite the controversy that surrounded the youngster being too tired to play for England, his development continues to tick along nicely and three league goals and two assists is a good start to the campaign.
