Cristiano Ronaldo

After scoring in eleven consecutive games so far this season, Cristiano Ronaldo could be on his way towards one of Lionel Messi’s records.

The Argentine scored in 21 matches on the trot in 2012/13 so it could be some way off, but with the Portuguese averaging two goals a game at the moment its not out of the question.

Can anyone stop Ronaldo?

Lionel Messi

The 27-year-old has broken so many records that he probably doesn’t even notice them anymore, but there are two more that he has a chance at during this campaign.

He needs to add just two more goals to his current 250 to become the highest ever scorer in La Liga, and another 7 assists to set up the most of all time in the Spanish top flight – he will overtake Luis Figo in the process.

Unbelievable stats from the diminutive Argentinian.

Manuel Neuer

The German has been playing brilliantly for Bayern Munich over the last few seasons, almost creating a new position with his brazen charges out from his own area.

Neuer needs just three more clean sheets to gain the record for the longest time without conceding in the Bundesliga. He’s gone 658 minutes unbeaten, and the record is held by Timo Hildebrand with 882.

Wayne Rooney

The Englishman has come in for some stick from fans since becoming captain of his country and Manchester United, but he still looks likely to become both teams’ all time top scorer.

The 29-year-old needs just seven more goals to overtake Bobby Charlton as England’s top scorer. With the nation’s easy qualifying group, it could well be achievable by the summer.

Perhaps less likely is to get past the same man for the Manchester United record. He needs a 30 goal season to grab the title.

Champions League all time top scorer

The UEFA Champions League goalscoring record is a title that could be passed between the brilliant Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi throughout the season. Raul has the current record at 71 goals, while Messi and Ronaldo have 69 and 70 respectively.
