GK) Wojciech Szczesny – 6

Nothing the keeper could do  as he watched the goals fly past him.

DR) Calum Chambers – 5.5

Started the game well but was skinned for Anderlecht’s second goal.

DC) Per Mertesacker – 5

Seemed to be coping well, but was caught out late on, as Aleksandar Mitrovic ran across him to head home.

DC) Nacho Monreal – 4.5

The Spaniard is playing out of position and it shows, as he gave away the penalty for Anderlecht’s second. Lucky that he wasn’t send off.

DL) Kieran Gibbs – 5.5

Strong in attack, but gave Anderlecht’s right sided players far too much space to cross, which lead to several chances and the third goal.

DM) Mikel Arteta – 5.5

Doesn’t have the defensive ability to play as a destroyer, and looked out of sorts before his early exit.

CM) Aaron Ramsey – 5

Got forward a lot, but didn’t control the game late on when it needed slowing down.

AM) Santi Cazorla 4.5

All too quiet once again, especially when the going got tough.

LW) Alexis Sanchez – 8.5

Dragged the entire Arsenal team after him once again, and will surely soon get tired of carrying ten players on his back.

ST) Danny Welbeck – 6.5

Played well, but perhaps should have scored against a makeshift, youthful Anderlecht defence.

RW) Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – 7

Scored a great goal, and was a real threat down both sides of the pitch.
