5. Gus Poyet, Sunderland

The Uruguayan was the hero of the Stadium of Light last term after guiding the Black Cats away from relegation against expectations, but despite their Monday night win at Crystal Palace the North East side have looked poor this year and an 8-0 hammering by Southampton was a real low point.

4. Brendan Rodgers, Liverpool

Was named Manager of the Year by his peers last campaign, but since losing Luis Suarez the Northern Irishman also looks lost and his Reds team have badly struggled without their talisman and a Europa League spot looks unlikely currently, never mind the Champions League.

3. Louis van Gaal, Manchester United

Defeat to rivals Manchester City on Sunday leaves the Red Devils languishing in 10th and after spending almost £150m on new players over the summer this is simply not good enough – although van Gaal has always claimed that his sides take three months to adapt to his methods.

2. Harry Redknapp, QPR

The Hoops may have given a good showing of themselves in the 2-1 defeat to league leaders Chelsea at the weekend, but having spent so much on average players and yet his side sit second to bottom, Redknapp is something of a disaster zone and many think the West Londoners need a new man in the dugout.

1. Paul Lambert, Aston Villa

With six straight defeats to his name in the league currently things are looking bleak for the Scot and many Villa fans are actually hoping their side lose their next two difficult fixtures to the Saints and West Ham United so that Lambert is finally sacked.
