Manchester United are considering terminating the contract of Brazilian midfielder Anderson in January if they cannot find a buyer, reports the Telegraph.

The midfielder, who won the Golden Boy award for Europe’s best young player back in 2006, signed for the Old Trafford club in 2007 for a colossal £26m fee, but the club are now so desperate to see him leave, they’re willing to pay £1.4m to terminate his contract and force him out of the club.

Anderson spent the second half of last season on loan at Fiorentina, and did nothing in Italy to suggest he is cut out to perform in an elite European league.

Under Louis van Gaal this term, Anderson’s been similarly cast aside, and he’s yet to make an appearance in the Premier League. In fact, his only appearance so far was in the 4-0 humiliation to MK Dons in the League Cup – where he appallingly bad.

The 26-year-old has actually been linked to the Indian Super League, although there is no firm word on where his future may lie.
