8) Danny Ings (Burnley, £3.52m)

According to the source, Ings narrowly and surprisingly beats Harry Kane to eighth place. He scored goals for fun in the Championship, but is yet to make much of an impact so far this season.

7) Saido Berahino (West Bromwich Albion, £4.40m)

The top scoring Englishman in the Premier League this season, his form means that he will only be sold for at least four times the quoted value here.

6) Connor Wickham (Sunderland, £4.40m)

His goals kept Sunderland up last season, but he has struggled to reproduce that form again this year as his side have struggled.

5) Facundo Ferreyra (Newcastle United, £5.28m)

Has yet to play a game for his new club since completing his loan move from Ukraine, where he did at least show what he was capable of.

4) Fabio Borini (Liverpool, £7.48m)

Has struggled to force his way into the Liverpool team, despite the injury to Daniel Sturridge and the poor form of Rickie Lambert and Mario Balotelli. But was still rated at around double his value by Sunderland and QPR during the summer.

3) Christian Benteke (Aston Villa, £13.20m)

The Belgian was a formidable, near unstoppable force during his early Villa days, but a long spell on the sidelines seems to have set him back somewhat.

2) Danny Welbeck (Arsenal, £15.84m)

Arsenal splashed the cash to sign the England international from Premier League rivals Manchester United during the summer, and he has rewarded them with an excellent start to life as a Gunner.

1) Romelu Lukaku (Everton, £26.40m)

After two successful loan spells with West Brom, and then Everton, the latter paid a club record £28m fee to land him from Chelsea, for whom he never scored a competitive goal.
