Tottenham Look to Sell Strike Duo In January

Reports in the Mirror claim that Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has a three man shortlist to solve his striker crisis in January.

Tottenham’s main two strikers Roberto Soldado and Emmanuel Adebayor have been shoddy so far this term, with the £26m Spaniard failing to bag a top flight goal, and the maverick African only finding the back of the net twice.

Youngster Harry Kane has done well, scoring nine goals in all competitions, but the Argentine boss is still keen on enforcing the group when the Winter transfer window opens.

Here’s the three wanted attackers:

1) Teofilo Gutierrez

The 29-year-old currently plays for River Plate in Argentina, and is rumoured to be available for a cut=price £6m. He’s been especially prolific in recent seasons, but is a major risk considering his age and the time it could take him to adapt to English football.

2) Patrick Herrmann

Hermann plays on the wing for Borussia Monchengladbach, but is also adept at playing more centrally. He’s enjoying a truly excellent Bundelisga campaign, but as a result, Italian giants Inter Milan are also monitoring his services closely.

3) Jay Rodriguez

Rodriguez’s injury kept him out of the England World Cup squad, but last term with Southampton, he bagged an impressive 16 Premier League goals. Like Hermann, he can play out wide or centrally, although he’d likely have to prove his fitness with the Saints before Spurs submitted an offer.
