Here is ITV’s Team of the Season so far:

GK) Fraser Forster – Southampton

After a move from Celtic this summer Forster has been exceptional for the Saints. With six clean sheets and just five goals conceded he has been a huge part of his new side’s defensive stability.

RB) Nathaniel Clyne – Southampton

Somehow still overlooked for England, Clyne has also been fantastic for Ronald Koeman’s side this season. The 23-year-old is starting to look like a complete full-back, and is still improving all the time.

CB) Ashley Williams – Swansea City

Very few defences have even come close to matching Southampton this season, but Swansea have been trying their best. The ever-present Ashley Williams has been a large part of that.

CB) Jose Fonte – Southampton

Back to Southampton for the second centre-back. Many thought that Fonte would struggle after Dejan Lovren left for Liverpool, but he has actually excelled without the Croatian.

LB) Ryan Bertrand – Southampton

After struggling for game time at Chelsea, Bertrand joined the Saints on loan this summer. He has been fantastic for them and they would be mad not to make the move permanent.

CDM) Nemanja Matic – Chelsea

Matic is the kind of player that every team needs, the dominant holding midfielder who breaks up play in the middle of the park. Giving the rest of the team the freedom to play further up the field, Matic has been instrumental in Jose Mourinho’s success.

CM) Cesc Fabregas – Chelsea

Why Arsenal didn’t re-sign the Spaniard this summer is a mystery, with his form since returning to the Premier League showing the quality he possesses.

RAM) Stewart Downing – West Ham

Arguably the most improved player this season, Downing has really picked up his game this season and has been a massive part of West Ham’s surprise success this season.

LAM) Dusan Tadic – Southampton

A relative unknown before this season, Tadic has been a revelation for his new side. Bought to replace Adam Lallana for less than half the price they sold him for, he has been doing a fine job so far.

ST) Alexis Sanchez – Arsenal

Having got off to a decent but not exceptional start to his Premier League career, the Chilean is finally starting to settle in and really hit his stride. Far and away the Gunners’ top scorer this season, he is already a vital part of the team.

ST) Graziano Pelle – Southampton

Another relative unknown brought in by Koeman, Pelle has done a fantastic job of leading the line for the Saints this season. Brought from Dutch side Feyenoord he looks to be the type of player who will fit into the Premier League perfectly.

Manager) Ronald Koeman – Southampton

Ronald Koeman has been performing well above expectations for Southampton this campaign, with many assuming that after a summer exodus the South coast side would be in danger of relegation.

Substitutes) David de Gea (Manchester United), John Terry (Chelsea), Eden Hazard (Chelsea), Saido Berahino (West Bromwich Albion), Sergio Aguero (Manchester City)
