Goalkeeper and defence:

Unsurprisingly perhaps, Chelsea dominate in defence with Blues goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois certainly far ahead of his fellow countryman Simon Mignolet. Meanwhile, it is only Liverpool left-back Alberto Moreno that just edges past Cesar Azpilicueta and Filipe Luis, who have rotated at left-back this season.

Midfield:

In a four-man midfield, Raheem Sterling is again the only Liverpool player in this part of the pitch, taking a place on the right flank while Chelsea’s Nemanja Matic, Cesc Fabregas and Eden Hazard fill the other roles in the team. Liverpool’s Brazilian starlet Philippe Coutinho is unfortunate to miss out on a place, but in truth so are Chelsea stars Oscar and Willian.

Attack:

In what would be a superb strike pairing, Chelsea goal machine Diego Costa is partnered by Liverpool’s injured but brilliant striker Daniel Sturridge, who has been a big miss for the Reds this season. With eight players to Liverpool’s three, it is clear to see why Chelsea have been such a class apart so far this season with quality in every position.
