7) Arsene Wenger (Arsenal)

Always a manager under intense scrutiny, silverware last season hasn’t spared Arsenal’s Arsene Wenger from more pressure this season, with his side again failing to show any signs of progression with the same old problems in defence and the hunt for more silverware already looking a challenging one this term.

6) Gus Poyet (Sunderland)

Despite a great fight to save Sunderland from relegation last season, Gus Poyet’s position at the Stadium of Light may be under the microscope soon if results don’t improve this season. A recent 8-0 defeat to Southampton was a true humiliation for the Black Cats and they will need to move up the table quick.

5) Harry Redknapp (Queens Park Rangers)

Having only narrowly led Queens Park Rangers to promotion from the Championship last season (arguably with a squad of Premier League players), Harry Redknapp really should be doing better with this expensive squad as they stutter in the top flight this season and look certainties for relegation again.

4) Louis van Gaal (Manchester United)

Although the Dutchman will surely be given time, there’s no doubt that Louis van Gaal is currently doing a worse job than David Moyes at Manchester United, which takes some doing. The big-money summer signings do not look to have paid off so far, and the team is already surely out of the title race and facing a fight to finish in the top four.

3) Brendan Rodgers (Liverpool)

With expectations raised beyond belief last season, Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is perhaps a victim of his own success this season, with the departure of star player Luis Suarez leaving his team in major need of rebuilding. The Reds have been highly disappointing so far this term, with Rodgers’ signings looking poorly judged once again.

2) Paul Lambert (Aston Villa)

Despite a good start, Aston Villa once again look somewhat toothless under Paul Lambert and the Scot will surely be shown the door in the next few games if things do not show any sign of improvement. The assistance of Roy Keane has not made a big difference to the club’s fortunes so far, and fans are growing all the more impatient.

1) Manuel Pellegrini (Manchester City)

Arguably the manager most under pressure at the moment, Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini is doing a bad job of maintaining the fine form his side showed last season as they won the Premier League and Capital One Cup double. Many of the team’s best players are looking well below-par at the moment, and an early exit from the Champions League looks inevitable once again, while the title may already be a distant dream as Chelsea look a far better outfit based on performances so far.
