Here are the player ratings for Arsenal against Swansea:

GK) Wojciech Szczesny – 6.0

Couldn’t do much for the first goal, but was caught on his heels a bit for the second.

RB) Calum Chambers – 5.0

Jefferson Montero had the beating of the youngster all evening, and he really should have been used as a centre-back rather than deployed out wide again.

CB) Per Mertesacker – 6.0

The big German really needs better support from his partner, Laurent Koscielny is so badly missed .

CB) Nacho Monreal – 5.0

Poor all evening, and was largely at fault for the second goal. Surely Arsene Wenger can see he is not suited for the centre-back role by now.

LB) Kieran Gibbs – 6.0

Gave away the free kick which led to Swansea’s equaliser, but generally was decent all evening.

CDM) Mathieu Flamini – 7.5

The Frenchman did a fantastic job of keeping Sigurdsson quiet in open play, and picked up the pieces after mistakes from his teammates.

CDM) Aaron Ramsey – 6.0

Disappointing from the Welshman, and not for the first time this season. Guilty yet again of trying to force things and looked desperate for a goal.

CAM) Santi Cazorla – 6.5

A decent performance from the Spaniard, but needs to do more. He is a game changer and needs to start showing that.

RAM) Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – 8.0 (Motm)

Hands down Arsenal’s best player, causing Swansea endless problems down the right side. He was instrumental in Arsenal’s goal, and everything good came through him.

LAM) Alexis Sanchez – 7.5

On the score-sheet again for Arsenal, taking his goal superbly.

ST) Danny Welbeck – 7.0

Worked hard and provided the assist for the goal. He perhaps should have scored in the first half however after squandering a decent chance.
