Linked with Liverpool and Arsenal for around £30m, Jackson Martinez has shown himself to be an immense goalscorer for Porto, and could make a better signing than his Colombian international team-mate.
4) Edinson Cavani (Paris Saint-Germain)
Unhappy at Paris Saint-Germain, Edinson Cavani is likely to be available this January and is a proven goalscorer at the top level, having come up on United’s radar in the past.
3) Mario Gotze (Bayern Munich)
Not exactly a striker, but a player growing all the more efficient in a ‘false 9’ role upfront and developing more of a killer instinct in the penalty area, Mario Gotze would be a world class addition for United.

Another player who is not exactly a striker, but £90m-rated Real Madrid star Gareth Bale is a superb attacking player who could surely do a job for the Red Devils upfront.
