Something of a laughing stock among the English press, Christian Gross was a manager to forget for Spurs.

Not a great for Tottenham as he was for a player, Ardiles didn’t last long after poor results at White Hart Lane.
9) Gerry Francis
Unpopular for his handling of Darren Anderton, it was all downhill for Francis despite a strong first season in charge.

7) Glenn Hoddle
Some decent football, but not the impact Tottenham wanted from another former legend as a player, Glenn Hoddle.

Not the best of starts by the former Southampton boss, Mauricio Pochettino will need improved results soon but his work at St Mary’s suggests he’d be worth waiting for.

Turned Tottenham into genuine top four contenders with some good, free-flowing football before rather harshly being sacked.
1) Harry Redknapp
Didn’t win a trophy and made some questionable signings, but to be fair to Harry Redknapp he got Spurs to fourth twice, once cruelly being denied a Champions League place due to Chelsea’s triumph over Bayern Munich in the final of the competition itself. Harshly sacked.
