The Spanish giants are known for their big-spending and ‘Galactico’ signings, and have raided big Premier League clubs in the past for their star players, with Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale the best recent examples.

Carlo Ancelotti could now be about to bring through a new generation of Galacticos as he prepares some ambitious moves in the transfer market, with some star players of his own perhaps set to leave the Bernabeu.

These five players appear to be high on the club’s list of priorities according to various recent reports:

5) Eden Hazard (Chelsea)

With reports that Real Madrid could be ready to sell Gareth Bale to Manchester United in a somewhat surprising deal, it is thought that Chelsea’s wing wizard Eden Hazard would be their first choice to come in as a replacement. The Belgian international has been world class since his move to Stamford Bridge in 2012, and would certainly fit in well at the Bernabeu.

4) Raheem Sterling (Liverpool)

Despite being in talks to sign a new contract at Anfield, Liverpool’s exciting young winger Raheem Sterling is believed to be high on Real Madrid’s list of potential transfer targets. The England international is an outstanding prospect and could be a real star of the future befitting of the famous white shirt.

3) David de Gea (Manchester United)

Linked recently as Real’s ideal replacement for the struggling Iker Casillas, Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea could be a top class signing by the Spanish giants after his superb performances in the Premier League. Formerly of Atletico Madrid, this talented shot-stopper could be tempted to return to his native Spain.

2) Ramires (Chelsea)

A player not always in the starting lineup for Chelsea this season, Ramires could also be in Real’s sights as the club prepare to offload him. In what would be a double raid on Stamford Bridge if the Brazilian follows Hazard to the Spanish capital, the tough-tackling midfielder could make a useful signing to add some depth in what has been a problem position for Ancelotti’s side.

1) Juan Mata (Manchester United)

Another Manchester United player possibly on his way out this January, Juan Mata has emerged as a possible target for Real Madrid, who are looking for creative attacking midfield players to come in after they let Angel Di Maria move to Old Trafford during the summer transfer window.
