Top Five Players From A-League Round Five: Former Bordeaux Star Tops List Of Impressive Performers

We rate the five best players from the weekend’s A-League action.

Roly Bonevacia (Wellington Phoenix)

Bonevacia was the driving force behind Wellington’s surprise win over the Western Sydney Wanderers and is showing himself to be one of most composed midfielders in the competition.

Kew Jaliens (Newcastle Jets)

Jaliens was the Jets’ best in their 2-2 draw with Melbourne Victory, with an assured performance in the heart of the Newcastle defence.

Also popped up with a rare goal.

Nebojsa Marinkovic (Perth Glory)

Marinkovic has been superb for the Glory this season and his sublime match-winning free kick was beautiful on the eyes.

The Serbian is proving himself to be one of the most technically gifted midfielders in the A-League.

Mate Dugandzic (Melbourne City)

Dugandzic stepped up in the absence of David Villa, scoring with an excellent left-footed finish.

He also came up with an assist to top off a fine performance.

Fahid Ben Khalfallah (Melbourne Victory)

The French-born Tunisia international was involved in everything on the weekend for the Victory in the 2-2 draw away to Newcastle.

Khalfallah scored a goal, provided an excellent assist for Besart Berisha and gave away a penalty.

The penalty was slightly dubious, but he was for the most part excellent for the second-placed side.
