As expected the team is very French heavy, although somewhat controversially Nasri has also named an Arsenal legend despite the fact he is widely despised at the Emirates Stadium.

Here is the side.

Goalkeeper and defence:

GK – Fabian Barthez

RB – Cafu

CB – Paolo Maldini

CB – Lilian Thuram

LB – Roberto Carlos

Despite being considered a disaster during his time at Manchester United, Barthez takes the berth as goalkeeper, whilst it is difficult to argue with the choices for Nasri’s back line.

Midfield:

RM – Diego Maradona

CM – Zinedine Zidane

CM – Patrick Vieira

LM – Johan Cruyff.

A very attacking midfield from Nasri with Maradona, Zidane and Cruyff all players who excelled going forward, whilst Vieira gets the role of defending having played with the City star at the Etihad Stadium.

The 27-year-old also dubbed the Argentine as the ‘best player of all time.’

Attack:

ST – Ronaldo

ST – Lionel Messi

Finishing off what is naturally a very strong team is an all South American attack, with Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo missing out to his namesake, whilst the exclusion of Pele may seem shocking to many as well.

Nasri may also rub the Portugal captain up the wrong way with his comments on the strike force he has chosen.

“For me there is only one Ronaldo; he had everything,” the Citizens ace said.

“I’ve never seen a striker with that much talent.

“Next to him is Messi, nowadays he is the best player; to win four Ballon d’Ors when you are 27 shows how great you are.”
