Here is the team in full.

GK – David Seaman

The Arsenal goalkeeper played with le Saux for the national team where Seaman was the established No.1 and was not adequately replaced into Joe Hart took the role.

RB – Gary Neville

It’s a similar story with this Manchester United legend with Neville playing out his long and very illustrious career entirely with the Red Devils.

CB – John Terry

Broke into the Blues team during le Saux’s time at Stamford Bridge and the centre-back didn’t take long to establish himself in defence and later become club captain.

CB – Tony Adams

There are a number of ‘one club’ players on this list and this former Gunners skipper is another great example, with Adams winning four league titles with the North London side.

LB – Stuart Pearce

Taking up the role that le Saux would have done is a defender who was dubbed as ‘psycho’ for his on-field rage, but is always heralded as a great role model for younger players.

CM – Paul Gascoigne

Several of the stars in this team are players that the full-back played alongside in the national team and Gascoigne was a real poster boy for the Three Lions in the 1990s, but never quite achieved his potential.

CM – Frank Lampard

Another ace from le Saux’s days in West London now and Lampard was a key figure at the club as the defender was reaching the end of his time there, but clearly made an impression on him nonetheless.

CM – Paul Scholes

Another to spend their entire career at Old Trafford now, with Scholes being regarded by many as one of the best midfielders of the past 20 years.

ST – Gianfranco Zola

For a Blues player in the late 1990s there was one key influence at the Bridge and that was this little Italian, who although was never prolific in front of goal was a supreme talent.

ST – Alan Shearer

Someone who was however prolific is this former striker, with Shearer holding the Premier League record for most goals scored with 260 and also lifted the title alongside le Saux with Blackburn in 1995.

ST – Brian Laudrup

Spent a short time with the West Londoners and is widely considered a flop at the club, but perhaps the Dane showed more on the training pitch than he did in matches.
