10.

2014/15: Dusan Tadic, Southampton – 7.54.

2013/14: Sergio Aguero, Manchester City – 7.64.

The Saints have been surprisingly strong this campaign and currently sit second in the English top tier, which sees new signing Tadic flying high compared to an injury ravaged Aguero last year.

9.

2014/15: Michael Dawson, Hull City – 7.60.

2013/14: Gareth Barry, Everton – 7.65.

After being deemed past it at Tottenham Hotspur last season Dawson has left for Hull and revitalised his career, whilst at this point last year Barry was reinventing his own career whilst on-loan with the Toffees.

8.

2014/15: Angel di Maria, Manchester United – 7.62.

2013/14: Steven Gerrard, Liverpool – 7.68.

British record £59.7m signing di Maria has made a big impression at Old Trafford, but in 2013/14 the Reds were impressing everyone and Gerrard was dictating play from defensive midfield.

7.

2014/15: Oscar, Chelsea – 7.63.

2013/14: Andros Townsend, Tottenham Hotspur – 7.71.

At this time last year Oscar was trying to assert himself ahead of Juan Mata at Stamford Bridge, whilst Townsend was apparently playing a lot better than everyone was giving him credit for.

6.

2014/15: Cesc Fabregas, Chelsea – 7.80.

2013/14: Dejan Lovren, Southampton – 7.71.

Fabregas’ return to English football has been a positive one for club and player alike, whilst Lovren was impressing at his own new side as the Saints impressed again.

5.

2014/15: Victor Moses, Stoke City – 7.84.

2013/14: Olivier Giroud, Arsenal – 7.77.

Blues fans can claim this one as well as Moses is on-loan from West London, whilst Giroud hasn’t been able to emulate last season’s form due to injury.

4.

2014/15: Alexis Sanchez, Arsenal – 7.85.

2013/14: Glen Johnson, Liverpool – 7.79.

Another signing from FC Barcelona now and with Giroud out Sanchez has been doing the scoring, whilst fans at Anfield may be shocked to see how highly rated Johnson was.

3.

2014/15: Sergio Aguero, Manchester City – 7.88

2013/14: David Silva, Manchester City – 7.89.

An all City affair here with Aguero the only player to feature on both lists and the Argentine has greatly improved thanks to an impressive 12 goals already this term, whilst Silva has struggled with injuries.

2.

2014/15: Eden Hazard, Chelsea – 7.95.

2013/14: Aaron Ramsey, Arsenal – 8.03.

It’s probably little surprise to see so many of Jose Mourinho’s unbeaten men featuring, whilst Ramsey hasn’t been able to recreate his explosive start to last campaign this time around.

1.

2014/15: Diego Costa, Chelsea – 8.07.

2013/14: Luis Suarez, Liverpool – 8.71.

With 10 league goals in nine games Costa has certainly announced himself in English football, but he will need to go some way to achieve what Suarez did in his PFA Player of the Year winning final season on Merseyside.
