Liverpool News And Rumour Roundup: Don’t Put Too Much Pressure On Sturridge Says Club Legend, World Cup Star Wants Anfield Move And Serie A Midfielder Targeted

Friday’s biggest stories for the Reds.

Inter Milan keen on signing Liverpool striker Fabio Borini

Inter are planning a January raid on the Premier League, with four stars of the division being targeted by the Serie A outfit.

Among them is Borini – according to the Daily Mail – who has struggled to find form at Anfield this season after refusing a move away from the club over the summer.

Arsenal’s Joel Campbell, Vlad Chiriches of Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City defender Matija Nastasic are also on their wishlist.

Divock Origi says he wants to cut his Lille loan short and return to Merseyside

The Reds forward was purchased from the Ligue 1 side over the summer for £10m, before being immediately sent back on-loan for the 2014/15 campaign as part of the deal.

With attack being an issue for manager Brendan Rodgers currently with the likes of Borini, Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert not performing, the 41-year-old would probably welcome Origi back as well.

“Although I agreed to stay with Lille until the end of this season, if there was a chance of joining Liverpool sooner I would take it,” the 19-year-old was quoted by the Guardian.

Reds renew their interest in Udinese midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu

A year on from when the Merseysiders were first linked with the Ghana international they are set to target Badu once again, reports Sport Mediaset.

Hull City and West Bromwich Albion are also understood to be interested in the 23-year-old, whilst Tottenham Hotspur are considering a move as well.

With concerns over the future of captain Steven Gerrard at the club Rodgers is keen to add some grit and physicality to his midfield in the January transfer window.

There is too much pressure being put on Daniel Sturridge says club legend Jamie Carragher

The former defender turned Sky Sports pundit says that whilst Sturridge is the team’s most likely saviour, too much pressure shouldn’t be put on the 25-year-old.

The England international has been out of action since late August due to injury and Carragher believes the striker is needed as soon as possible.

“He has been out for while so you don’t want to put too much pressure on him, but it looks like it is down to him because there is not much else there at the moment,” the 36-year-old told talkSPORT.

Adam Lallana admits he tried too hard to impress when he first signed

After completing a £25m summer switch from Southampton the midfielder took some time to settle in as injury hampered things for him.

Lallana has now admitted that in a bid to impress his new employers he probably tried a little too hard and has learned to relax a bit more now.

“I was so desperate to do well, maybe trying a bit too hard to impress, not doing things that I’d normally do, thinking about things maybe a bit too much,” the 26-year-old was quoted by the Evening Express.
