10) Jack Wilshere (Arsenal)

A player not quite reaching the level we thought he would as a youngster, Jack Wilshere is a player who badly needs to up his game for Arsenal at the moment.

9) Edin Dzeko (Manchester City)

A key player for Manchester City in their title win last season, Edin Dzeko’s form has really taken a dip this season as he struggles to find the right touch in front of goal.

8) Phil Jones (Manchester United)

Another player who looked destined for great things as a youngster, Phil Jones has gone backwards for Manchester United and needs to step up this season.

7) Emmanuel Adebayor (Tottenham Hotspur)

Not exactly a world class striker, but Tottenham Hotspur front-man Emmanuel Adebayor is certainly capable of playing far better than he has been, and needs to put himself about like he used to at his best.

6) Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (Arsenal)

A promising young player who looks to have stalled somewhat, Arsenal winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is another the Gunners could do with stepping up to lift them out of this rut at the moment.

5) Aaron Ramsey (Arsenal)

One of the best players in the Premier League last season, Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey is in disappointing form this term, failing to reproduce that fine form that saw him flourish last year.

4) Luke Shaw (Manchester United)

A highly promising young player who may be struggling to deal with the expectation of playing for Manchester United, Luke Shaw has been a slightly disappointing signing for the club so far.

3) Mario Balotelli (Liverpool)

A candidate for worst signing of the summer at the moment, £16m Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli was always a gamble, but the Italian forward can definitely play much better than this.

2) Robin van Persie (Manchester United)

One of the best strikers in the world on his day, injuries may be holding him back at the moment, as we just haven’t seen the real Robin van Persie for some time now.

1) Yaya Toure (Manchester City)

Absolutely incredible for Manchester City last season, Yaya Toure is playing well within himself at the moment and needs to get back to what we all know he can do.
