The Blues boss made over £120m from the sales of Kevin de Bruyne, Juan Mata, David Luiz and Romelu Lukaku, a quartet of players he deemed surplus to requirements and owner Roman Abramovich may feel that Mourinho should look to finance moves in January and next summer from the further sales.

Here are eight players Mourinho can afford to lose and their projected valuations.

Andre Schurrle – £20m

World Cup winner is something of a bit-part player and is surely consider his future at the west London club.

Mohamed Salah – £8m

Winger barely gets a look-in and would do well to leave before he stagnates on the Blues bench.

John Obi Mikel – £10m

The superb form shown by Nemanja Matic and the presence of Ramires will surely lead to a Mikel exit sooner or later.

Petr Cech – £8m

Too good to warm the bench and must leave with Thibaut Cortois firmly ensconced as Chelsea’s new number one.

Victor Moses – £7m

So far down the pecking order it’s likely the Nigerian will never play for Chelsea again, using Stoke City as a useful shop window.

Fernando Torres – £12m

Spaniard will look to rebuild his reputation at AC Milan and isn’t likely to play for Chelsea again.

Oriol Romeu – £6m

Spanish midfielder started his Chelsea career brightly but is now a perennial loaned out commodity who should leave permanent when possible.

Ryan Bertrand – £5m

Full-back is impressing at Southampton and a permanent St Mary’s move may suit all concerned.
