1) Isco (Real Madrid)
A player in terrific form at the moment, Real Madrid starlet Isco is known to be a favourite of Man City boss Manuel Pellegrini, who managed him during their time together at Malaga. A skillful, creative attacking midfielder with an eye for goal, Isco could be a smart signing to replace Toure at the Etihad Stadium.
2) Marco Reus (Borussia Dortmund)
One of the best attacking midfielders in the world at the moment, Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus has recently been linked with City and many other clubs, including Arsenal and Liverpool, as he looks set to leave the Bundesliga for £20m next summer.
3) Paul Pogba (Juventus)
A like-for-like replacement for Toure, Juventus starlet Paul Pogba has also been strongly linked with City in recent times, with his skill, physique and energy in midfield making him a highly promising talent.
4) Ross Barkley (Everton)
Another similarly energetic and technically gifted box-to-box player, Everton youngster Ross Barkley has been linked with a big-money move to City in recent times, though the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United are also interested.
5) Arturo Vidal (Juventus)
A long-term target for Manchester United, Arturo Vidal is another Juventus midfielder who could make an excellent signing for City if they lose Toure, with the Chilean another great all-rounder who could add plenty of quality to Pellegrini’s side.
