With an asking price of £47m to ward off potential suitors, Borussia Dortmund star Mats Hummels would become Arsenal’s most expensive player ever if he did move to the Emirates Stadium this January, with this fee eclipsing the £42.5m they paid to sign Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid last season.

Valued at £48m by Atletico Madrid, exciting young midfielder Koke is attracting plenty of interest this January, with both Chelsea and Manchester City chasing him. Although he would not be more expensive than £50m Fernando Torres for the Blues, he would become City’s most expensive purchase ever, moving ahead of Sergio Aguero, who was also signed from Atletico back in 2011.

An ambitious transfer target for Liverpool, it is reported that a deal could be struck for the Reds to sign Real Madrid’s world class striker Karim Benzema for £38m this January, which would be £3m more than their current club-record purchase…Andy Carroll.
