Blues boss Jose Mourinho spent big on bringing in the likes of Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa during the summer, and although these signings have done superbly to lift the club to new heights this term, their spending may not end there.

Recent transfer speculation suggests Chelsea are still keen to fine-tune their squad, with as many as four current first-teamers being linked with exits from Stamford Bridge, while four new signings could then come in as replacements to improve the team’s options even more.

In what could be an exciting transfer window for Blues fans, these are the possible ins and outs expected at the club in the near future:

Out – Andre Schurrle

Despite some decent form since moving to Chelsea from Bayer Leverkusen, Andre Schurrle has not managed to nail down a regular starting place for the Blues and is now believed to be one heading for the exit, with Liverpool interested in snapping him up.

Chelsea news

In – Marco Reus (Borussia Dortmund)

Linked with so many top clubs in recent times after his tremendous form with Borussia Dortmund, Marco Reus is now believed to be a top target for Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, either this January or next summer.

Out – Petr Cech

In a shock move, Arsenal are reportedly the favourites to sign Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech, who has been linked several times with an exit from the club after losing his place to Thibaut Courtois this season, and it now looks as though the club will consider selling to a rival.

In – Gerard Pique (Barcelona)

With a £24m bid expected this January, Barcelona defender Gerard Pique is seemingly on Chelsea’s agenda as they look to add strength in depth in defence, with the Spaniard recently falling out of favour at the Nou Camp.

Out – Ramires

No longer first choice for Chelsea, Ramires has been linked with a move to Real Madrid this January, with ex-Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti known to be a big fan of the Brazilian box-to-box player.

In – Koke (Atletico Madrid)

A potentially superb signing in midfield, Chelsea could make yet another raid on Atletico Madrid this January as they target the £48m signing of Spanish youngster Koke.

Out – Mohamed Salah

Having failed to make an impression at Chelsea since signing from FC Basel just last January, Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah is now thought to be one set for the Stamford Bridge exit this winter, with Inter Milan waiting in the wings to snap him up.

In – Gareth Bale (Real Madrid)

In what could be an absolutely sensational £90m move, recent reports claim that Real Madrid could be open to selling Gareth Bale to Chelsea. The world class Welshman was a hit with Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League and would surely make this Blues side unstoppable.
