10. Danny Welbeck, Arsenal

Signed from Manchester United for £16m on transfer deadline day this forward may have only scored two league goals as yet, but a Champions League hat-trick and a brace for England on Saturday shows what Welbeck is capable of.

9. Nikica Jelavic, Hull City

With so many others grabbing the headlines the fine displays of this Croatia international have gone somewhat under the radar, but Jelavic’s four strikes to date have played a big part in the Tigers’ success.

8. Romelu Lukaku, Everton

After impressing on-loan at Goodison Park last year the Toffees were moved to pay a club record £28m for the Belgian and although Lukaku’s tally of four goals is hardly groundbreaking, the 21-year-old has still looked good.

7. Charlie Austin, QPR

With all the money the Hoops spent after gaining promotion from the Championship it is actually Austin who has been impressing the most with six league goals to date.

6. Wilfried Bony, Swansea City

Ever since arriving at the Liberty Stadium in the summer of 2013 for a club record £12m the Ivory Coast international has been the Swans’ best player with another four goals this term.

5. Saido Berahino, West Bromwich Albion

Showed promise last campaign, but in 2014/15 the Englishman has been even better and earned a place in Roy Hodgson’s squad for the Euro 2016 qualifier with Slovenia as a result.

4. Diafra Sakho, West Ham United

Signed from the French second tier, but that clearly hasn’t shown as Sakho has netted six goals to help the Hammers to a surprisingly high position in the table.

3. Graziano Pelle, Southampton

When so many left the Saints over the summer many thought it would start a crisis, but Ronald Koeman has guided the South Coast club to second place currently and Pelle’s six strikes have greatly helped.

2. Sergio Aguero, Manchester City

May be the leading scorer in the division currently with an impressive 12 goals, but for us Aguero hasn’t been quite the best this season despite his brilliant showings.

1. Diego Costa, Chelsea

Top of the pile is a Spaniard signed from Atletico Madrid over the summer and in his nine games for the Blues since in the league the 26-year-old has 10 strikes.
