Nigel Boogaard (Adelaide United)

Boogaard was composed at the back for the Reds and made a brilliant late tackle on Wellington attacker Kenny Cunningham to deny the Costa Rican a chance to put the Phoenix 2-1 up.

He also popped up with a rare goal from a textbook header to put the Reds back on level terms.

Vedran Janjetovic (Sydney FC)

Janjetovic pulled off a string of fine saves in the first half of his side’s 0-0 draw with rivals Melbourne Victory, including several excellent reflex saves to keep Victory marksman Archie Thompson goalless.

Scott Jamieson (Perth Glory)

Jamieson is starting to show the form that put him in the Socceroos frame before an achilles injury cruelly ended his 2013/14 campaign.

The former Sydney FC man provided energy down the left side and his curling free kick from 30-yards was brilliant.

Mate Dugandzic (Melbourne City)

Dugandzic has stepped up in the absence of David Villa and makes the top five for the second week in a row.

He scored a well-taken goal and was lively all afternoon, and his withdrawal sparked a City collapse.

Henrique (Brisbane Roar)

The ‘Slippery Fish’ came off the bench to score a hat-trick against the hapless Jets and was the clear stand-out performer of the round.
