Liverpool Face Competition For Dani Alves

Brendan Rodgers looks to be facing some serious competition in the hunt for Barcelona right-back Dani Alves, with both the Manchester clubs vying for his signature.

The competition looks to have got even stiffer, with the Mirror revealing that Serie A side Juventus are also in for the Brazilian.

Mario Balotelli Fit For Palace

Mario Balotelli gave Liverpool one more thing to worry about last week when the misfiring forward pulled out of international duty with a hamstring injury.

It seems now however that he will be fit to face Crystal Palace next weekend in the Premier League.

Daniel Sturridge is also thought to be available for the clash, but Rodgers may not want to risk aggravating the injuries of either player.

Benzema Boost

French Forward Karim Benzema has been a long term transfer target for both Liverpool and Arsenal, and the Premier League pair have received a boost following a revelation by the Real Madrid star.

With Florentino Perez openly pursuing Luis Suarez this summer, Benzema has begun to feel unappreciated in the Spanish capital. He is unsure whether the La Liga giants view him as a long-term option, and is therefore evaluating his position and weighing up a transfer to the Premier League.

Fellaini Foul Play

Manchester United’s Marouane Fellaini floored Liverpool star Joe Allen with a powerful elbow during a meeting between Belgium and Wales on Sunday, but it appears as though the big Belgian will escape any form of punishment.

Allen was left crumpled on the floor, blood pouring from his nose and mouth, but the referee did not penalise Fellaini for his part in the collision.
