Premier League Beware: Inter Milan Boss Mancini Targets Liverpool And Arsenal Stars

Mancini lining up a quadruple Premier League swoop after taking over at the San Siro.

New Inter Milan manager Roberto Mancini seems to be wasting no time drawing up his list of targets for the January transfer window after replacing Walter Mazzarri last week, with the Mirror reporting that four Premier League stars are on the Italian’s radar.

Here are the four players that Mancini is supposedly targeting to strengthen his underachieving Inter side:

Aleksandar Kolarov (Manchester City)

Mancini was the man who brought left back Kolarov to the Etihad Stadium from Serie A giants Lazio – and he is reportedly interested in taking the Serbian international back to Italy. City are unlikely to want to sell Kolarov, however, who has generally seen off competition from Gael Clichy for the first team berth at the club.

Fabio Borini (Liverpool)

Inter were amongst the clubs reported to be interested in Liverpool striker Fabio Borini over the summer, but the Italian international ended up staying at Anfield. He still seems to be far from a regular under Brendan Rodgers, however, so could be tempted to move on in January.

Erik Lamela (Tottenham Hotspur)

Perhaps the most ambitious of the players linked with Mancini and Inter is Tottenham Hotspur winger Erik Lamela, who hasn’t quite found the form of his Serie A days with AS Roma since moving to the Premier League. Spurs would still want to recoup the majority of the club record fee they paid for the Argentine, however, which could prove to be a huge stumbling block.

Joel Campbell (Arsenal)

The Costa Rican hero of the World Cup hasn’t been given the chance to impress for Arsenal since returning to the club from a loan spell at Olympiakos this summer and could well be getting itchy feet, with Inter amongst the clubs linked with a move for Campbell.
