Team’s poor form has affected Angel di Maria – Argentina coach

Argentina manager Gerardo Martino believes that di Maria has been affected by Manchester United’s poor form, reports the Mirror.

Since making an impressive start to his Red Devils career, the winger has found it difficult in the past couple of weeks to make the same kind of impact.

“His start [at United] was exceptional and the fact that generally when players go to a new club and have to get used to a new league, a new team, a different style of football and different team-mates, I think the form that he is showing now is possibly more typical of a player going to a new club than the very first few games when he burst onto the scene and did so well,” Martino told reporters.

Loss in revenue could mean Far East tour

The Old Trafford club are set to announce a drop in revenues of around £45 million and could organise a money-making post season tour to the Far East to try and make up the loss, reports the Daily Mail.

This tour would be in addition to a Middle East trip in January and a pre season in America. None of the projects have been confirmed yet, but times that they would be possible have been marked out.

Injury crisis for Arsenal game

The Red Devils could have up to 10 players unavailable due to injury for the match against the Gunners on Saturday, reports the Independent.

Michael Carrick, David de Gea, Phil Jones, Rafael, Marcos Rojo, Jonny Evans, Daley Blind, Jesse Lingard, Ashley Young, and Radamel Falcao are all doubtful for their team’s trip to the Emirates Stadium.

There will be no reinforcements either

United will not be able to sign Victor Valdes to play on Saturday due to injury, reports the Mirror.

With first choice keeper de Gea out for up to four weeks and his compatriot training with the team at the moment, it was thought that a quick deal could have been sorted out.

However, the former FC Barcelona man is still carrying the knee injury that ruled him out of the 2014 World Cup.

Bayern Munich star lined up

Man United could be in line to sign Bayern’s Shaqiri for £18 million, reports the Daily Star.

The Swiss international has been unhappy at his lack of minutes at the Bundesliga champions, and could be on his way out of the club in January.

The Red Devils are thought to be competing with Liverpool for his signature.
