The official site of the division has asked fans who they think will finish as top-scorer in the league come May and here are the results.

5. Saido Berahino, West Bromwich Albion – 1%

The 21-year-old may have impressed enough with his seven strikes to date to earn a call-up to the senior England squad, but clearly most people think Berahino is a young talent and not a Golden Boot winner.

4. Graziano Pelle, Southampton – 2%

Has been a revelation since arriving at St Mary’s over the summer and along with standout performers Morgan Schneiderlin, Dusan Tadic and manager Ronald Koeman has helped the Saints to second place currently.

3. Alexis Sanchez, Arsenal – 17%

Signed from FC Barcelona over the summer in a £35m deal and the Chile international has taken to English football immediately with eight league strikes already for the Gunners.

2. Sergio Aguero, Manchester City – 35%

Despite being the current leader in the race to be top-scorer Aguero isn’t actually the favourite in this poll which could perhaps be down to the fact that the Argentine is injured so frequently.

1. Diego Costa, Chelsea – 45%

Way out in front is another forward who signed from La Liga over the summer and since arriving from Atletico Madrid in a £32m deal the 26-year-old has 10 goals in nine league matches for the Blues.
