Jordan Henderson is the latest Liverpool player to be struck down with injury and could miss the Premier League clash with Crystal Palace on Sunday as a result, reports the Liverpool Echo.

Henderson picked up a hamstring problem whilst on international duty with England and was forced to miss Tuesday’s 3-1 victory over Scotland as a result.

The 24-year-old has returned to the Reds’ training facility Melwood to have the issue further assessed by the club’s medical staff to see if he will be able to face the Eagles at the weekend.

This is more bad news for manager Brendan Rodgers who received the news that Daniel Sturridge has been hit by another setback in his recovery from a thigh injury sustained back in early September.

Rodgers was left fuming at the Three Lions coaching staff and Roy Hodgson in particular as the Northern Irishman believed Sturridge had been pushed too hard during a training session and that’s what caused the problem.

Since then the 25-year-old has been trying to return to fitness, but this latest issue means that it could still be some time until the striker is back in action for the Merseysiders.
