Argentine forward has mammoth asking price.
Manchester City and other interested clubs would have to pay a staggering £200m to sign Barcelona star Lionel Messi, according to the Sun.
The Argentine has long been regarded as one of the best players in the world and perhaps of all time, in a stunning career so far that has seen him break a number of individual landmarks as well as winning a whole host of major trophies.
City have previously been mentioned as interested in doing what they can to bring Messi to the Etihad Stadium, with the mega-rich Premier League club known to be big admirers of his and ambitious to bring the best players in the world to the club.
However, Messi seems somewhat unlikely to leave the club he has been with for his entire career anytime soon, though his father and agent Jorge Messi has admitted that if a club met his release clause of £200m, they would be open to studying the offer.
The 27-year-old has also himself admitted that he would not rule out leaving the Nou Camp in the future, even if he is currently fully focused on the club and helping them achieve their goals.
