With little more than a month left until the transfer window reopens, clubs will be finalising their wish lists for the January window and deciding which holes in their squads need filling most urgently.

The one position that is likely to dominate the headlines, predictably, is in attack, with Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City, in particular, all requiring a top class centre forward after some insipid displays so far this season.

Here are the ten finest strikers that could be on the move this January, if reports are to be believed:

10) Jay Rodriguez (Southampton)

Tottenham Hotspur have been strongly linked with a move for England international striker Jay Rodriguez from Southampton, but will they be willing to meet a huge asking price for a player who has been out injured for months?

9) Alessio Cerci (Atletico Madrid)

Cerci has not impressed Diego Simeone since joining Atletico Madrid from Torino this summer and has been linked with a move to Manchester United or Arsenal already.

8) Lukas Podolski (Arsenal)

German international Podolski has been a peripheral decision for some time at Arsenal, with the player himself admitting that he needs to discuss his future with manager Arsene Wenger.

7) Roberto Soldado (Tottenham Hotspur)

There is no doubt that striker Roberto Soldado has flopped since joining Spurs from Valencia just over a year ago, so it should be no surprise that he has reportedly been made available for transfer.

6) Andre-Pierre Gignac (Marseille)

French international striker Andre-Pierre Gignac has been one of the most in-form players in Europe so far this season, with his goals helping Marcelo Bielsa’s side to the top of League One and attracting the interest of Arsenal and Liverpool.

5) Mattia Destro (AS Roma)

Despite his prolific goalscoring record for Serie A giants AS Roma, manager Rudi Garcia does not see the Italian international as a regular Stadio Olimpico starter, attracting the interest of Arsenal and Chelsea.

4) Jackson Martinez (FC Porto)

Colombian goal machine Jackson Martinez is running out of time to prove that he can translate his goalscoring form from the Portuguese Primeira Liga into the Premier League, with Arsenal and Liverpool amongst the clubs who could give him a chance to prove his mettle in a major league.

3) Edinson Cavani (Paris Saint Germain)

The future of Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani at Paris Saint Germain remains up in the air, despite recent quotes from the striker suggesting that he is keen to stay. The former Napoli star has been frustrated by being played out of position and playing second fiddle to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, attracting the interest of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United.

2) Karim Benzema (Real Madrid)

Despite only extending his Real Madrid contract a matter of months ago, reports are still surfacing that suggest that Arsenal will look to take advantage of doubts that Benzema has over his future at the Bernabeu to bring him to the Premier League.

1) Marco Reus (Borussia Dortmund)

The man who is most likely to dominate the headlines this January is Borussia Dortmund forward Marco Reus, who reportedly has a release clause in his contract that comes into effect next summer. Despite this, however, one of the numerous major clubs linked with his signature could look to steal a march on their rivals and open January negotiations with Dortmund.
