Arsenal predicted XI v Manchester United:

GK) Wojciech Szczesny

With David Ospina still injured Szczesny is sure to continue in goal.

RB) Calum Chambers

Despite a number of people calling for Chambers to be moved to the centre of defence, Arsene Wenger is likely to stick with the youngster out wide.

CB) Nacho Monreal

A number of poor performances have seen Monreal come in for some criticism while playing at centre-back, but unless Wenger decides to move Chambers infield then the Spaniard will continue to partner Per Mertesacker.

CB) Per Mertesacker

Arsenal’s only fit first choice centre-back. Although he has looked less solid without Laurent Koscielny next to him he will still most certainly get the nod.

LB) Kieran Gibbs

The 25-year-old has been the stand-out defender for Arsenal so far this season, and will look to continue that form against Manchester United.

DM) Mathieu Flamini

Mikel Arteta is available once again following his latest injury, but Arsene Wenger may not want to rush him back. The Frenchman is likely to start over his Spanish teammate.

CM) Jack Wilshere

Wilshere was superb for England in both their recent international games, and Arsene Wenger will be hoping his form for the national side will carry over to club level. He faces competition from Aaron Ramsey, but the Welshman was complaining about a lack of fitness following Wales’ clash with Belgium last week.

CAM) Santi Cazorla

The Spaniard has become a guaranteed starter during Mesut Ozil’s absence, but as of yet he has been unable to capitalise on the opportunity. Unless Wenger chooses to play both Wilshere and Ramsey then Cazorla will start either in the hole or on the left.

RAM) Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

The English youngster looks set for a breakout season with the Gunners this year, and with Theo Walcott ruled out after suffering an injury in training he is sure to continue his role on the right.

LAM) Alexis Sanchez

Without a doubt Arsenal’s best player so far this season, Wenger would have to be a fool to drop Alexis Sanchez.

ST) Danny Welbeck

There are question marks over his fitness after he picked up a knock while on international duty, and with Olivier Giroud back in contention his starting spot is anything but guaranteed. Wenger may not want to rush the Frenchman back into first team action however, so if fit Welbeck may keep his spot.
