1) Phil Jones
A very specific fear for the Manchester United defender – a fear of using lifts, but only abroad.
“When I go abroad, I can’t go in lifts, I don’t mind it in England, but I can’t do it when I go away,” he is quoted as saying.
“When I was young we went away on holiday to Greece and we got stuck in a lift for a few hours.
“It was horrible. I felt so claustrophobic.”

2) Dennis Bergkamp
Famously labelled the non-flying Dutchman, former Arsenal star Dennis Bergkamp regularly missed the club’s away games in the Champions League due to a fear of flying, which he developed in 1994.
“In terms of flying, I’ve seen and done it all and I’m simply not flying again. Ever.”
3) David Beckham
A Manchester United legend, David Beckham might come across as a generally normal guy off the pitch, but he has admitted to a phobia of frogs!
Asked about his experienced on a wildlife show with the BBC, the 39-year-old said: “The frog I was scared of. I’m not a big frog fan. I can’t lie.
“It was orange. We were told it was dangerous. I was a little bit nervous about that.”
4) Peter Crouch
A highly unfortunate phobia for Stoke City striker Peter Crouch is that he has a fear of his own height, according to one of his former managers anyway…
Graham Taylor, his old manager at Aston Villa, has been quoted as saying: “One of the main problems for Peter is that he still has a bit of a phobia about being so tall.”
5) Matt Holland
Former Republic of Ireland midfielder Matt Holland is another former player with a weird phobia, he is scared of animals…except horses.
“I am scared of most animals and won’t have cats or dogs in the house but I really enjoy horses.” Ok then.
