GK) Massimo Taibi

There plenty of competition in goal, but Taibi wins out over Roy Carroll because of his famous clanger against Southampton. Possibly the most famous player ever with only four appearances for a club – and that’s not a good thing!

RB) Jonathan Spector

The American began as a striker in the United youth academy, and is now a defender for Birmingham in the Championship, after a spell at West Ham.

CB) Laurent Blanc

A great player who came to United too late in his career and struggled to settle in.

DL) William Prunier

A name everyone knows, if only from lists like this, the Frenchman is a legendary United disaster.

LM) Bebe

Signed for United after impressing at the homeless World Cup, and is currently at Benfica, where he has yet to make an appearance.

CM) Liam Miller

Miller was touted as the next Roy Keane, but the similarities ended with their nationality.

CM) Eric Djemba-Djemba

Legendary for his name if nothing else, Djemba-Djemba has played in Qatar, Israel, India, Serbia and Burnley since leaving Old Trafford.

RM) David Bellion

Another French flop, Bellion was blessed with lightning speed and…. well that’s it actually.

AM) Kleberson

Played an important role in Luiz Felipe Scolari’s 2002 World Cup winning side, but you wouldn’t believe it from watching him play.

AM) Jordi Cruyff

Poor Jordi could have been a Ballon d’Or winner and still would have been compared unfavourably to his own dad.ST) Garry Birtles

Garry Birtles was a United flop, but he already had two European cup winner’s medals by the time he arrived at Old Trafford, so he probably wasn’t that bothered.
