Here is what each English team needs if they hope to get through their group to the promised land of the knockout stages.

Manchester City

The Sky Blues have to win against Bayern Munich if they want to qualify without having to rely on a draw between AS Roma and CSKA Moscow. If they lose or draw, and the other match is not a stalemate then they will go out of the competition. They will probably also need a win in their final match against Roma in either situation.

Chelsea

If the Blues win at Schalke 04 they will go through as group winners. If they draw after scoring two or more goals they would guarantee qualification but not top spot. In the case of a stalemate they would only need another point in their last match to grab first place.

Liverpool

The Reds can guarantee at least third and the Europa league if they beat bottom placed team Ludogorets Razgrad. However, they will be out of the competition if FC Basel better their result against leaders Real Madrid. If they were to win and the Swiss team lose/draw it would create an all or nothing last match against each other in the final fixture.

Arsenal

The Gunners need to beat Borussia Dortmund if they want to keep their hopes of taking first off them alive. A draw would take both teams through, but with the Bundesliga strugglers top. Even if the North London club lose, they can go through if both Anderlecht and Galatasaray drop points or if they get something from their last match.
