The Polish international has caught the eye in La Liga this season, putting in some fine displays for Sevilla since joining the club from Ligue 1 outfit Reims.

The 24-year-old was brought in for just £3.5m, but his performances at his new club have already seen his value skyrocket to around £20m, and it remains to be seen if the Gunners will be willing to fork out quite that much for the player.

Still, Arsenal’s need for a new defensive-minded midfield player is all too clear, with the team struggling in that position for much of the season anyway, and with the club’s latest injury blow to Arteta making the situation even more desperate.

The Spaniard went off in yesterday’s 2-0 win over Borussia Dortmund and is looking likely to be out for a lengthy period, leaving Wenger’s side well short in that part of the pitch.

Krychowiak looks to have the qualities to come in and improve the team in that area, and it looks as though Arsenal will step up their interest in the player.
