Here we pick out the PFA Team of the Year for 2013/14 and what the likeliness is of those players being named again this time around.

GK – Petr Cech

The Chelsea No.1 took the place between the sticks last term, but having since been replaced by Thibaut Courtois at Stamford Bridge a repeat of that is unlikely.

2014/15 PFA Team of the Year? No.

RB – Seamus Coleman

Injured for the beginning of this season, since returning the Republic of Ireland international has simply picked up where he left off and ih stays fit will play a big part in Everton’s success once again.

2014/15 PFA Team of the Year? Possibly, although Branislav Ivanovic and Nathaniel Clyne are ahead currently.

CB – Vincent Kompany

Despite missing large chunks of last campaign due to fitness issues the Manchester City captain still took a spot after his team won their second title in three years.

2014/15 PFA Team of the Year?  Unlikely, unless the Citizens win the league.

CB – Gary Cahill

It’s taken a bit of time, but Cahill is now established for both the Blues and the England national team and as a centre-back there are few more reliable in the entire division.

2014/15 PFA Team of the Year? Yes.

LB – Luke Shaw

The left-back’s impressive form for Southampton earned him a big money summer move to Manchester United, but things haven’t been as positive for the 19-year-old since leaving St Mary’s

2014/15 PFA Team of the Year? No, not with injuries and poor form plaguing him.

RM – Adam Lallana

Another who did well for the Saints and then earned a lucrative move away, with Lallana joining Liverpool and although his personal form has been adequate the Reds as a whole are struggling.

2014/15 PFA Team of the Year? No.

CM – Steven Gerrard

As one of the few players in European football to score more than 10 league goals and provide more than 10 assists the Merseysiders’ captain appeared to be rolling back the years last term, but age has caught up with him now.

2014/15 PFA Team of the Year? No.

CM – Yaya Toure

The Ivory Coast international scored 20 goals from midfield to help City to the title in 2013/14 and yet this time around his form and attitude have slipped and even something close to that achievement seems very distant.

2014/15 PFA Team of the Year? Probably not, although the quality is there.

LM – Eden Hazard

The form of the 23-year-old may have been somewhat overshadowed this season by new arrivals Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas, but Hazard has been arguably as crucial to the impressive start of Jose Mourinho’s men.

2014/15 PFA Team of the Year? Yes.

ST – Luis Suarez

After scoring 31 league goals in just 33 matches Suarez earned a move from Anfield to FC Barcelona over the summer, although if he remained in England the South American would surely still be terrorising defences.

2014/15 PFA Team of the Year? No.

ST – Daniel Sturridge

Losing Suarez was a blow for Brendan Rodgers, but one of the key reasons his side have struggled this term is because of the prolonged absence of Sturridge through injury, with the 25-year-old netting 21 league strikes last time out.

2014/15 PFA Team of the Year? Unlikely, unless he can rediscover his fitness, but even Aaron Ramsey missed out last term because of injury.
