So here we pick out the players aged 21-years-old ot younger that we think have really enjoyed a breakthrough season in 2014/15.

Rolando Aarons, Newcastle United

No one outside of the Newcastle academy had heard of this 19-year-old before he scored against Crystal Palace and although hardly a regular in Alan Pardew’s starting XI, has shown great promise already.

Saido Berahino, West Bromwich Albion

After netting in the win over Manchester United at Old Trafford last term this striker proved he had talent, but now the 21-year-old also has consistency with seven league goals already and a call-up to the England squad.

Calum Chambers, Arsenal

Admittedly the 19-year-old’s performances for Southampton last year prompted a £16m offer from the Gunners, but Chambers has gone from Nathaniel Clyne’s understudy at right-back to reliable central defender since then.

Harry Kane, Tottenham Hotspur

Having reached 21-years-old many thought Kane’s chance in the top tier had passed, but with Spurs’ strike force struggling the forward has stepped up and netted 11 in all competitions.

Liam Moore, Leicester City

May be part of a Leicester team that is struggling currently, but that is due to their faults in attack rather than at the back and if the Foxes do down this 21-year-old defender will surely be snapped up.

Ayoze Perez, Newcastle United

With Emmanuel Riviere not making the desired impact upfront this 21-year-old has progressed quicker than expected and with three goals for the Magpies looks to be a shrewd summer signing.

Andrew Robertson, Hull City

Had been doing well in Scotland and was a steal at £2.75m considering the 20-year-old left-back is now established for both club and country.

James Wilson, Manchester United

To be fair the 18-year-old scored against Hull towards the end of last season, but new Red Devils manager Louis van Gaal appears to be a big fan of the teenager and Wilson looks set to succeed.
