Bale has recently been linked with both Manchester United and Chelsea as his Bernabeu future looks uncertain, despite only joining the club from Tottenham Hotspur last season.

Still, the Welshman would need a quality replacement if he were to leave the Spanish capital, with Aguero’s sensational recent form attracting interest from Real, who have been linked with the Argentine a number of times in the past.

Formerly of their local rivals Atletico Madrid, Aguero has established himself as one of the best strikers in the world since his move to City in 2011, helping the club to two Premier League titles and the Capital One Cup in his time at the Etihad Stadium.

The 26-year-old is the centre of much attention again this week after his hat-trick downed Bayern Munich in the Champions League, and Real now want to bring him in to challenge Karim Benzema for his place upfront, whilst also providing an option to replace Bale in the front three if he does return to the Premier League.
