Arsenal Predicted Lineup Vs West Bromwich Albion: Laurent Koscielny Could Return & Olivier Giroud To Start

Here’s how Arsenal will line up against West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns…

Arsenal will be in confident mood following their 2-0 win over Champions League rivals Borussia Dortmund, and will be hoping for an equally dominant win over Premier League side West Bromwich Albion.

With injuries still taking it’s toll on the squad, the starting XI practically picks itself. With a couple of players facing late fitness tests however, as well as Laurent Koscielny returning from injury, Arsene Wenger will have a couple of decisions to make.

Here is how we think Arsenal will line up against West Brom:

GK) Damien Martinez

With Wojciech Szczesny and David Ospina out injured, Martinez is the only option Arsene Wenger really has. He performed well against Borussia Dortmund midweek, although was never really truly tested.

RB) Calum Chambers

The former Southampton man has been excellent this season, and looks to be improving all the time. With Mathieu Debuchy still a couple of weeks away, Chambers is sure to start at right-back once again.

CB) Per Mertesacker

The German hasn’t been at his best this season, but it has been important for Arsenal to have some stability; injuries resulting in an ever changing back line being a serious problem.

CB) Nacho Monreal

Although his ability as a centre-back is often called into question, the Spaniard was superb against Dortmund. Laurent Koscielny is back in contention, but Arsene Wenger may not want to rush his compatriot back into action.

LB) Kieran Gibbs

Gibbs has been a stand-out player for Arsenal this season, and has easily been one of the most consistent players. When fit there is no question over who is the first choice left-back.

DM) Mathieu Flamini

Flamini is sure to start at the weekend, with Mikel Arteta picking up yet another calf injury against Dortmund. The Frenchman is more mobile than his Spanish teammate, but doesn’t offer the same level of leadership and tactical awareness.

CM) Aaron Ramsey

The Welshman has, by his own admission, been a shadow of his former self this season, with injury disrupting his form. He has started to look far better over the last couple of games however, and will be vital to Arsenal following Jack Wilshere’s nasty injury against Manchester United.

CAM) Santi Cazorla

Bound to start this weekend, with injuries giving Arsene Wenger very little choice. He may be played out on the left to give Alexis Sanchez a free role, or deployed in the number ten role behind the striker.

RAM) Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

The young Englishman has been in fantastic form so far this season, and looks to have cemented his place in the starting XI. Will Theo Walcott be able to prise it away from him when he returns?

LAM) Alexis Sanchez

Arsenal’s star man this season without a shadow of a doubt, Sanchez has been unstoppable at times. With another goal in midweek, the Chilean has showed no signs of slowing down.

ST) Olivier Giroud

The Frenchman was ineligible for Arsenal’s Champions League game against Dortmund, so will be rearing to go against West Brom at the weekend. Returning from injury with a bang against Manchester United, the powerful targetman will be looking to wrestle his starting spot back off Danny Welbeck.
