Football Manager 2015 Team Guide: AC Milan – Return To Glory In 5 Simple Steps

AC Milan’s side is currently probably the worst it’s ever been. But with a bit of good management, you can turn things around and lead the Rossoneri to Champions League glory once again.

5) Sell the deadwood

The side has been horribly managed in recent years, and is full of massively overpaid, underperforming and ageing players. Rid yousrselves of these space-wasters to free up some space on the wage bill. You could even terminate Fernando Torres’ loan, if you think you’ve got the quality to survive without him…

4) Find some bargains

You’ll have to be smart, as you’ll only have a few million pounds to work with. Don’t waste all your money on wonderkids, as you’ll need cover for the experienced players you’ve sold. Bring in some youngsters alongside some adequate first team replacements.

3) Work out your formation

Stephan El Shaarawy is one of your few saleable assets. If you choose to keep hold of him, you should build your side around him. Play him out wide with an Inside Forward role, with the pacy Jeremy Menez on the other side as a traditional winger. Build the rest of your team around the threat provided by these two, as well as anchorman Nigel de Jong.

2) Sort out the defence

Mattia de Sciglio is a fantastic talent and can be played out of position on the left while Ignazio Abate covers the right. Adil Rami is an ok defender but Alex is ageing and on huge money. Get rid of Alex and find a suitable partner for Rami. Eder Balanta is quality but will cost you most of your budget. Try to get young Nacho on loan from Real Madrid if you can.

1) Decide on M’Baye Niang

The Frenchman is hugely talented, but has yet to score a comptetitive goal for Milan after 28 games. Will you persist with the talent and try to manage him to success, or give up and play Fernando Torres?
