Radamel Falcao given until April by Manchester United to convince them to make his move permanent

It has been a tough start to life at Old Trafford for Falcao following his summer loan move from AS Monaco.

The 28-year-old has been plagued by injuries and so far has managed six appearances for his new club and has scored just one goal.

United have already paid a £6m loan fee and have given the striker until April to convince them to pay a further £44m and make the Colombia international’s move permanent, according to the Mirror.

Red Devils unsure whether to offer Javier Hernandez a new contract as Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur close in

The striker known as ‘Chicharito’ will leave Real Madrid next summer after Los Blancos decline to sign the loan star permanently.

The Mexican’s current contract with Man United expires at the same time and the club need to decide whether to extend that or not.

If they choose the latter then the Daily Express reports that the Gunners, Reds and Spurs are all interested in signing the 26-year-old.

Wayne Rooney has exceeded Louis van Gaal’s expectations

Van Gaal has admitted that he had heard less than positive things about Rooney before taking charge at the Theatre of Dreams over the summer.

However, the Dutchman has been convinced otherwise since arriving at the club and is glad he made the England international his captain.

“From the first day he was not the Wayne Rooney what people have said about him. He was, in my eyes, an example in training,” van Gaal was quoted by the Telegraph.

Wigan Athletic make Ryan Giggs their top target if Malky Mackay has to leave

The Latics appointed Mackay as Uwe Rosler’s successor despite the fact the Scot is still under investigation from the FA.

During his time at Cardiff City the manager is accused of sending racist, homophobic and sexist texts and could still be charged by the footballing body.

Wigan have a clause that means they can sack Mackay if he is charged and owner Dave Whelan has made Giggs his No.1 target to takeover if that happens, according to the Mirror.

Michael Carrick hopes Hull City win is the start of things to come

United made it back-to-back Premier League victories on Saturday as they overcame Hull with a 3-0 victory.

Carrick is back in the starting XI after injury concerns and after his team’s inconsistent start to the campaign he thinks they can now start building some momentum.

“Our downfall this season is that we’ve had to change the team too much and we haven’t had a consistent run with this squad. Hopefully that will change now and it’s nice to have a game so quick so we can keep that momentum going,” the midfielder told the club’s website.
