Another brilliant round of Premier League fixtures saw Chelsea finally look vulnerable, their dropped points against Sunderland allowing the chasing pack to make up ground and with a chance make the league competitive this season…

We look at the five biggest winners from the weekend.

John O’Shea – Sunderland

A commanding display was needed from the Irishman to keep 11 goal hitman Diego Costa from continuing to take the Premier League by storm, but O’Shea was able to use his experience to get under the skin of the Chelsea forward and mark him out of the game.

Santi Cazorla – Arsenal

One of the bright lights in an otherwise uneventful game between Arsenal and West Brom. Got the assist for Welbeck’s winner that will have Arsenal fans hopeing the Spanish maestro is back to his best following an exquisite performance midweek against Dortmund.

Aaron Cresswell – West Ham

The toast of Upton Park following his winning goal against Newcastle. The adventurous left back got the Hammers the three points from a tight game but didn’t shirk his defensive duties.

Sergio Aguero – Manchester City

He might not have got his name on the scoresheet against Southampton but City talisman more than proved his worth with two assists and should have had a penalty.

Roberto Soldado – Tottenham Hotspur

The ecstatic celebrations when Spurs took the lead against Everton on Sunday might best be explained as relief rather than jubilation.

It may have been Spurs first home win in the league since the beginning of October but this was a return to scoring ways for their beleaguered forward Roberto Soldado, his first league goal since March.

It’s been a torrid time for the Spanish striker at the North London club but it was a composed finish and he showed good movement up top all game for Spurs creating space for their first.
