The Scottish international, formerly of Liverpool, could be a useful signing for Moyes’ side as he looks to put his own stamp on the squad he’s inherited at the Basque outfit, adding steal and experience to his squad.

Brits are not known for making the move abroad to play in foreign leagues, but Moyes made the bold decision to take up the job at Sociedad, while former Tottenham Hotspur winger Gareth Bale is also in Spain’s top flight with Real Madrid.

Adam has not quite been a regular for Stoke this season despite previously being one of their key players, and it is thought that the Potters would be willing to listen to offers for him if they come in in the upcoming January transfer window.

Sociedad scouts have been sent to watch the former Blackpool man play, and it is thought that they also had a look at Burnley striker Danny Ings in a recent Premier League meeting between the two sides.
