All the latest news and transfer gossip for Manchester United:

4) Mats Hummels Old Trafford bound

Louis van Gaal’s Manchester United have become the favourites to sign Mats Hummels, with the German star looking for a way out in January.

Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund slumped to the bottom of the table after yet another defeat this weekend, and Hummels is hoping to be rescued this winter.

Available for somewhere in the region of £32m, Man United will have to battle Arsenal for his signature.

3) Karim Benzema on the move

Reports from Spain are suggesting that Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is ready to listen to offers for French forward Karim Bemzema.

The La Liga side are in no rush to offload the former Ligue 1 star, but a big bid would be a very tempting proposition.

Ancelotti is looking for more than £40m to prise Benzema from the Bernabeu, a fee Man United wouldn’t have a problem with if they decided not to keep Radamel Falcao.

2) Lloris in, de Gea out

David de Gea has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford recently, with Real Madrid looking to replace Iker Casillas as the No.1.

Louis van Gaal is apparently keen on bringing Tottenham shot-stopper Hugo Lloris to Manchester United as his replacement.

1) Di Maria to miss cold Tuesday night at Stoke

Angel di Maria is the latest in a long line of injuries for Louis van Gaal, the Argentine picking up a hamstring strain in Manchester United’s 3-0 win over Hull City at the weekend.

He will miss the Stoke City match on Tuesday, and could be out for longer.
