Chelsea are set to host Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday, a fixture Spurs have failed to win in 24 years, their last coming before the inception of the Premier League.

CaughtOffside take a look at the bogey clubs of all the teams in Premier League, compiled by Daily Telegraph.

Arsenal – Bogey Team: Chelsea

Arsenal have failed to beat Chelsea when they have been managed by Jose Mourinho with the Portuguese manager on a twelve match unbeaten streak against Arsene Wenger.

In fact, Arsenal have lost 16 of their 20 matches with the Blues since their 2006 move to the Emirates Stadium.

Aston Villa – Bogey Team: Fulham

Villa have only managed to beat the Londoners once since they did the double over them in 2009/2010 season. Fulham even managed to beat Villa twice in their calamitous relegation run last season.

Burnley – Bogey Team: Manchester City

The Clarets are yet to play City this season but managed a 3-3 draw at the Etihad when they last graced the top flight – albeit conceded six at Turf Moor in the reverse.

City have an incredible 40 year unbeaten stretch against Burnley having twice condemned them to five goals plus defeats – the Clarets last victory came ridiculously in October 1974.

Chelsea – Bogey Team: Sunderland

It’s hard to think Chelsea have any weaknesses at the moment but Gus Poyet’s side managed to break Jose Mourinho’s almost sacred 77 game unbeaten home record at Chelsea last season.

The Black Cats also recently held Chelsea to a draw at the Stadium of Light. Could this be the start of a major hoodoo for Jose Mourinho and Chelsea?

Crystal Palace – Bogey Team: Bolton

The South London side have just one league victory over Bolton in 16 matches in one of the more curious of records.

Everton – Bogey Team: Liverpool

Still waiting for their first win at Anfield since the turn of the millennium – only Arsenal hold a greater record over the Toffees than Liverpool.

Despite that it’s got to be Liverpool as Everton’s bogey team considering how many cup finals they’ve lost including two FA cups and a league cup to the Anfield side.

Hull City – Bogey Team: Burnley

The Clarets have defeated the Tigers in eight of their last nine meetings – which includes Burnley’s surprising 1-0 victory this season.

A match-up which could become interesting toward the end of the season considering Hull’s continuous drop in form.

Leicester City – Bogey Team: West Ham

With just one win at Upton Park for the Foxes since England won the World Cup in 1966, there will be an added spice to Leicester’s trip to London on 20th December.

Liverpool – Bogey Team: Leicester City

Despite not holding a wholly dominant record over Liverpool, Leicester have recorded some shock results over the Reds particularly when at their pomp.

Leicester won on three consecutive Anfield visits between 1963 and 1965 – a time when Bill Shakily was at his most powerful – and have continued to take multiple scalps when the sides have met since.

Manchester City – Bogey Team: Sunderland

In City’s last four visits to Tyneside they’ve succumbed to a surprising 1-0 defeat to Sunderland with City’s last victory coming before the arrival of Sheikh Mansour.

Probably the only negative of the Saudi Arabian’s arrival at City.

Manchester United – Bogey Team: Chelsea

In the Premier League era no team has won more points off Manchester United than Chelsea.

United fans can point to the 2008 Champions League final to show just how much they actually care about this statistic but the Red Devils have only two victories in 10 meetings with the Blues.

Newcastle United – Bogey Team: Manchester City

If Newcastle hadn’t won against City in the League Cup this season their appalling record would look even worse.

The Magpies have just two victories in their last 17 meetings.

Queens Park Rangers – Bogey Team: Nottingham Forest

QPR have played 29 times at Forest and have yet to win once, a 4-0 stonking in the 1934 FA Cup kicked off this abysmal record.

Southampton – Bogey Team: Sunderland

Southampton’s 8-0 evisceration of Sunderland doesn’t suggest any kind of hoodoo between the two sides but Saints fans will have to count this as payback for the 11 years they went without victory over the Black Cats.

Stoke City – Bogey Team: Manchester United

Six trips to Old Trafford, six defeats for Stoke since their return to top flight football in 2008 all whilst conceding a brutal 20 goals.

Swansea City – Bogey Team: Everton

In four trips to Goodison since Swansea’s return to the Premier League the Swans have taken just one point. But Garry Monk’s side did manage to smash the toffee’s in the League Cup this season so perhaps the curse has finally been lifted?

Tottenham Hotspur – Bogey Team: Chelsea

Spurs’ last victory at Stamford Bridge against the Blues was 27 years ago courtesy of a Gary Lineker winner.

However Spurs have an almost equally dismal record back in North London after they went winless against Chelsea between 1987 to 2006 in their own back yard.

West Bromwich Albion – Bogey Team: Stoke City

Stoke have only lost twice in 30 meetings with West Brom – a record so impressive and historical that Potters fans even have a chant dedicated to their supremacy over the Birmingham side.

West Ham – Bogey Team: Everton

Everton have won nine and drawn four since the Hammers last victory in 2007 – even this season, West Ham’s incredible league form couldn’t beat the hoodoo as they went down 2-1 leaders at Goodison to an inconsistent Everton.
