Six Potential Clubs Under-Fire Boss Jurgen Klopp Could Manage, Including Arsenal And La Liga Giants

There won’t be a shortage of suitors if the German leaves his current club…

Borussia Dortmund have made a terrible start to the season in the Bundesliga. They have lost eight of the thirteen games so far, and are rock bottom of the league.

This means that there is a possibility that their current manager Jurgen Klopp could be on the way out of the club. If he were to leave there would be many clubs who could be interested in the 47-year-old. Arsenal and Liverpool are just two Premier League clubs that have been linked to the German in the past.

Liverpool

The Reds have endured a poor start to the season, and pressure has built on manager Brendan Rodgers. They did win on the weekend, but it was a poor performance generally, and won’t keep the fans from criticising the Northern Irishman. Klopp could reinvigorate the club by bringing in a more direct style and extra personality to Anfield.

Arsenal

The Gunners have also had to deal with an under par beginning to their campaign. Despite winning on Saturday, there were still anti-Wenger banners in the crowd, and a new manager may be what is needed if the North London club want to regularly compete for trophies again. Similarly to Liverpool, Dortmund’s current manager could bring a breath of fresh air to the club.

Paris St. Germain

The French club may have been performing well in the Champions League, but they are currently second in Ligue 1. Having Marseille ahead of them will be unacceptable to a club that has spent vastly more in the last few years compared to Marcelo Bielsa’s side. Klopp has also spoken of his wish to manage the Parisian’s captain Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the past.

Manchester City

The Citizens may look like they have turned it around for now with impressive wins against Bayern Munich and Southampton. However, the fact that they will in all likelihood have a tough draw for the Champions League round of sixteen and are still six points off the pace in the Premier League means that this could all change again. The German manager would certainly make life interesting at the Sky Blues.

Atletico Madrid

A club in a similar situation to Borussia Dortmund but challenging a big two instead of a big one,  and Atletico’s current manager Diego Simeone is in no danger of being sacked. However, were he to leave to greener pastures then Klopp would be a ready made replacement. Whether he would want to manage another underdog club is another matter altogether though.

Barcelona

The Catalan club have had a strange season so far. They didn’t concede a single goal for their first eight games of the season, but then suffered defeats to Real Madrid and Celta Vigo. They have since struggled past Valencia and minnows Almeria as well as convincingly beating Sevilla. Currently second in their Champions League group, they could also end up with a tough draw in the first knockout round. Current manager Luis Enrique seems to be finding it hard to deal with easing Xavi out of the side and there are rumours that he has fallen out with club stalwart Gerard Pique. Whether the club would want to cut their losses so soon is another matter, but they could do worse than hire Jurgen Klopp if they did.
