With a full schedule of midweek Premier League fixtures set to kick off this evening, we’ve taken to our Football Manager 15 game to see how they would pan out if real life could really be simulated:

Burnley 1-1 Newcastle United

It was all square at Turf Moor as a late header from Sam Vokes cancelled out Gabriel Obertain’s opener for Newcastle.

Leicester City 1-3 Liverpool

Liverpool are having a wonderful season on the game, in stark contrast to real life, and continued that with a comfortable win at Leicester thanks to a Daniel Sturridge hat-trick. Leonardo Ulloa got a late consolation for the Foxes.

Manchester United 2-1 Stoke City

Manchester United were forced to come from behind to beat Stoke City at Old Trafford after Peter Crouch gave the visitors an early lead, but Wayne Rooney and Ander Herrera were on target for the Red Devils.

Swansea City 0-0 Queens Park Rangers

A late red card for Angel Rangel was the only talking point after a drab game at the virtual Liberty Stadium.

Crystal Palace 2-1 Aston Villa

Aston Villa have a dreadful record at Selhurst Park in real life and that was reflected in the game as goals from Wilfried Zaha and Scott Dann meant that an opener from Libor Kozak meant nothing.

West Bromwich Albion 1-0 West Ham United

It wasn’t one for the purists at The Hawthorns as an early goal from Chris Brunt settled a game of few chances in the West Midlands.

Arsenal 3-1 Southampton

A comfortable win for the Gunners at the Emirates against virtually struggling Southampton. Mikel Arteta gave the hosts the lead before Graziano Pelle equalised, but further goals from Olivier Giroud and Alexis Sanchez were enough for the Gunners.

Chelsea 3-2 Tottenham Hotspur

It was a thrilling London derby at Stamford Bridge between these two rivals as they exchanged blows. Aaron Lennon gave Spurs the lead, Diego Costa equalised and then Eden Hazard had the Blues ahead before the break. Emmanuel Adebayor made it 2-2 but a late winner from Costa settled matters.

Everton 1-0 Hull City

It was dull as dishwater at Goodison Park, where Leon Osman’s early goal was the difference and Robbie Brady missed a penalty for Hull.

Sunderland 0-1 Manchester City

Manchester City have a well documented curse at the Stadium of Light, but they were able to break it on the game as Edin Dzeko’s header separated the two sides.
